None can challenge Indian sovereignty over Kashmir: Brig Gupta

Rather than cooperating with the nation in fighting the deadly coronavirus, it is highly condemnable and unfortunate that Kashmiri leaders through their touts are trying to internationalise a purely internal matter of enacting laws by the union government for the union territory (UT) of Jammu & Kashmir. Ghulam Nabi Fai, an ISI backed Kashmiri lobbyist in USA has issued a press release titled, “World Kashmir Awareness Forum rejects India’s illegitimate moves in Kashmir,” stated Brig Veteran Anil Gupta, Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party. The entire press release smacks of a well-hatched conspiracy as the similar noises are being made by some self-centric Kashmiri leaders who have formed a “status quo” lobby to emotionallyexploit the youth of J&K, asserted Brig Gupta.

The press release apart from questioning the legality of the Notification, has also made usual accusations of demographic change and giving jobs to “out siders.” It has quoted one Kashmir based human rights activist, KhurramParvez, “By virtue of this order, outsiders are… going to be the claimants of jobs in Jammu and Kashmir, which already has a huge unemployment problem. This is an act against the interests of unemployed youth.” “India is one and there is no dual citizenship. Every citizen is an Indian citizen. There is no separate citizenship for residents of J&K, a fact these advocates of “outsiders” need to acknowledge,” stated Brig Gupta. Those who stay in the UT and contribute towards its economy and development cannot be termed as “Outsiders.” Just in the recent past when migrant labour was forced to leave the Valley, the entire service and horticulture industry had come to a virtual halt. “Why should they be denied government jobs if they share 15 years with them and study in same schools, questioned Brig Gupta.”

Fai and his ilk must refrain from talking of demographic change because they were whole sole responsible for the largest demographic invasion of the century, which is globally acknowledged. If at all anybody can complain of planned and government aided demographic invasion, it is the people of Jammu, rued Brig Gupta. “Not many in India will like to come to a closed and monolith society. Hence there is no threat from outside, the challenge is all within. Are they opposed to the return of Kashmiri Hindus or other migrants?”

Fai’s repeated reference to the UN Resolutions is also futile. India on her part has acted in the most matured manner as far as these resolutions are concerned, it is Pakistan which blatantly refused to comply with the UN resolutions and till date remains in illegal occupation of POJK. Is Pakistan willing to vacate POJK, the region it treats as a colony? It is reported that rather than treating or isolating the confirmed cases of coronavirus from Punjab, Imran Khan’s government has shifted them to POJK and are not being kept in isolation even, regretted Brig Gupta. It is also reported that Pak ISI is planning to push them across the LoC in Kashmir. Fai should be lecturing Pakistan rather than questioning India’s sovereignty over Kashmir and poking his nose in a purely internal matter, advised Brig Gupta.
