Pulwama attack case, court grants seven days police custody  

 The National Investigation Agency (NIA) yesterday arrested two more persons for their alleged role in the 2019 Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed today produced before NIA Court for seeking remand.

Special Judge NIA Subash C Gupta after gone through the remand application granted seven days police remand of Waiz ul Islam Mohammad Abbas Rather.

Accoridng to NIA case that a Case FIR  No 20/2019 dated 14.2.2019 was registered with the P/S Awantipora District Pulwama  for commission of offences under section 302,307 of RPC & Sections 16,18 & 20 UA(P) Act  and Section 3 of Explosive Substance Act regarding the Fidayeen Attack on CRPF convey  at  Lethpora  on NHW Jammu – Srinagar  by  JeM terrorist banned organization by ramming and  explosive  laden vehicle.  In this attack 40 CRPF personnels attained  martyrdom  and some other were grievous injured . Subsequently, in compliance to the order No. 11011/07/2019/NIA dated 19.2.2019, issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi, NIA Branch office Jammu has re-registered a case No. RC-02/2019 /NIA/JMU dated 20.2.2019 and thereafter, immediately, set the investigation into motion. Special Judge NIA Subash C Gupta observed that keeping in view the facts and the circumstances of the case,  gravity and heinousness of the crime as involved in the present matter,submissions made by the NIA and the stage of the investigation of the case, the court is of the considered view that the custodial interrogation of the accused is imperative to facilitate the ongoing investigation & to take it to logical conclusion and ordered that the accused are remanded to police custody for 07 (Seven) days.
