CHARAK INAUGURATES CONSTRUCTION WORK AT SHAHI JAMIA MASJID, BAHU FORT

BJP Senior Leader and Bahu Fort Development Committee (Regd.), J&K President Kr. Rajeev Charak along with State Vice President BJP Youth and Vice Chairman BFDC Advocate Ishant Gupta, Legal Advisor Advocate Varun Gupta & Vice President Krishan Chand Sharma inaugurated the long pending construction and renovation work at Shahi Jamia Masjid, Bahu Fort. On this occasion, they were welcomed and felicitated by Shahi Jamia Masjid, Bahu Fort President Abdul Rashid Bhat, Vice President Shah Mohammad, Mushtaq Salaria, Haji Ali Wani, Nazeer Ahmad, Nakeem Ahmad, Mohd. Saddiq, and Mohd. Yaseen.
While speaking on the occasion, Kr. Rajeev Charak said that Bahu Fort is a historic place and gives message of brotherhood among Muslims and Hindus because on its one side the historical mosque is situated and on the other side historical Temple of Mata Maha Kali which is popularly known as Bawe Wali Mata Temple. Charak added that Shahi Jamia Masjid and Bawe Wali Mata Temple both are constructed in the 16th century by Maharaja Dhruv Dev Ji. He said that the mosque was undeveloped since decades and in 1987 last renovation work was taken place but keeping in view the increase in population, renovation is need of hour to provide better facilities and developmental works. He said that with the lack of developmental works congregation of prayers (Nawaz Ada) in rainy and hot days is very difficult. Charak added that the renovation of mosque and construction of new shed is pending since long due to local issues and shortage of financial grants but now with the contribution of J&K Tourism and self contributory, the work resumes again with an estimated cost of Rs. 20 Lakhs which provide a big relief to perform congregation of prayers (Nawaz Ada).
Abdul Rashid Bhat said that Shahi Masjid Bahu Fort is one of the oldest and historical mosque in Jammu City which has unique architecture and historical significance. He thanked charak and all the dignitaries for their sparing their valuable time to grace the occasion and also thanked tourism department for their kind support.
