Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti affirms ‘Every house to have tapped water by 2021’

Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti’s two day extensive tour of Reasi district concluded here today with her visit to Sujandhar and surrounding panchayats of block Bhomag under Union Government’s public outreach programme.

At a public meeting held at Government High School Sujandhar, the Union MoS interacted with the prominent citizens and representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and assessed their demands and problems.

She said that every household of Union Territory of J&K would have tapped water by 2021 in the first phase of ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’ mission.

The issues raised by the people included establishment of a Degree College and an ITI College at Bhomag block and construction of road from Sujandhar to Sarhi and Dangakote.

The DC also briefed the Union MoS about potential of horticulture in the region owing to production of various fruits and vegetables like apples, walnuts, garlic etc.

Meanwhile, the MoS launched construction work on a tractor road from Main Road to Takka Mohalla and construction of a water harvesting tank at Sarmeghan Panchayat under Jal Shakti Mission.

Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib, Assistant Commissioner Development, Anirudh Rai, Sarpanchs, Panchs and locals were present on the occasion.
