Jammu and Kashmir Police in Rajouri district has achieved a big success by busting a gang of thieves operating in and around Rajouri town and have recovered stolen property worth lakhs of rupees from accused.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Yougal Manhas said that an investigation team headed by Station House Officer Rajouri Sameer Jillani under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters Surinder Khadyal while investigating different cases of thefts registered in Rajouri police station managed to corelate the nature of theft which gave an idea that a single gang or it’s members are involved in the incidents.
SSP Rajouri said that as a part of investigation, several suspects were detained and put to questioning by police whereas different kinds of human as well as digital intelligence were also collected based on which police finally managed to identify six thieves who were running a gang and were suspected to be involved in all the incidents.
” During raids and special night nakas conducted by joint teams of police station Rajouri all the six thieves were nabbed and put to questioning who confessed to their involvement in the cases of thefts in and across Rajouri in last an year,” SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas further said.
He said that the accused have been identified as Zaheer Abbas @Billa son of Mohammad Latif resident of Chingus Rajouri, Balbir Singh son of Sukhchain Singh resident of Dhanidhar Rajouri, Muzaffar Hussain son of Mohammad Rashid resident of Dhanidhar Rajouri, Mohammed Shadab son of Raj Mohammad resident of Jawahar Nagar Rajouri, Tariq Aziz son of Mohammad Makhna resident of Jawahar Nagar Rajouri and Baldev Jha son of Kamlesh Jha resident Bihar, at present Salani bridge area of Rajouri.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Yougal Manhas further disclosed that after busting of gang of thieves and arrest of all the six thieves, police have succeeded in solving seven cases of thefts which were committed by these accused.
These cases include case FIR 12/2020 under sections 457,380 IPC in which five thousand rupees of coins have been recovered from accused, case FIR 14/2020 under sections 457, 380 IPC in which mobile and its accessories worth fifty thousand rupees have been recovered, case FIR 16/2020 under sections 457, 380 IPC in which mobile phones and it’s accessories worth forty thousand rupees have been recovered, case FIR 744/2019 under sections 457/380 IPC in which laptop and mobile worth ₹33500 have been recovered, case FIR 17/2020 under sections 379 IPC in which a motorcycle worth ₹75000 have been recovered, case FIR 18/2020 under sections 379 IPC in which a motorcycle worth ₹1,10000 have been recovered and case FIR 19/2020 under sections 379 IPC in which a stolen motorcycle worth ₹1,00000 has been recovered.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Yougal Manhas added that so far 31 Mobile phones, one Laptop, one Camera, One Speaker and three Motorcycles valuing over ₹4.0 lacs recovery has been made from the possession of accused persons and further investigation and questioning from the them is going on to ascertain their involvement in other cases of thefts.
