Only approved, tendered projects to get funds: Dr Mehta, reviews progress under district capex budget in Ramban

Financial Commissioner Finance, Arun Kumar Mehta today made it clear that the funds will be  provided only for the projects tendered properly and having administrative approval.

 He was speaking in a meeting held to review the progress made under current year district capex budget in Ramban.

DG Budget, Mohammad Yaqoob Itoo; Director General (Codes), Shadi Lal Pandita; Joint Director Resources, Shoukat Hussain; Deputy Director (P&S), Jyoti Sharma; Deputy Director PWD, Sohan Sharma and other senior officers and officials of Finance department were present in the meeting.

DDC, Ramban, along with the other officers of district administration, participated in the meeting through video conferencing.

The Financial Commissioner sought detailed information  about the expenditure made under the district capex budget 2019-20, physical status of projects, including those tagged for completion in 2019-20 financial year, status of works taken under Back to Village program, progress in the implementation of Centrally sponsored schemes, status of languishing projects funded under JK Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation, district credit plans, Aadhar seeding, third party evaluation of the completed projects and administrative approval of the projects funded under the district plan.

Dr. Mehta asked the DDC to inform him about any problem he faced in release of budget under various components. He impressed upon the officers to ensure satisfactory progress in each sector at the end of the financial year. He advised the officers to formulate the work plan as per the topography and working season of the area.

 He suggested for completing tendering of all the projects before the onset of working season so that these are completed before the end of financial year. He also directed them to clear the bills for completed projects without any delay.

 The Financial Commissioner also stressed on making available enough Kiosks to public for GST filing, and other student related activities. They were asked to accelerate Aadhar seeding under different schemes to facilitate 100% progress. He also asked the district officers to submit list of the issues they face and submit it to his office for their prompt resolution. He underscored the need of completing all the publicly vital projects by giving more attention to them.

Earlier, the DDC apprised the meeting about the expenditure registered till October, 2019 against the capex budget. he informed the meeting that expenditure of Rs 40.85 crore has been made till October, 2019 and from October, 2019 to March, 2020 the district has to spend an amount of Rs138.82 crore under different developmental activities.

 The officers were further advised to brace up for the upcoming development season well in advance so that the shortcomings found this year are not repeated in future.
