Director-General of Police, J&K Shri Dilbag Singh visited the twin South districts Shopian and Pulwama today where he chaired security review meetings with the jurisdictional officers and took stock of situation in these districts.
The DGP was accompanied by the IGP CRPF (Ops) Shri Rajesh Kumar, IGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar, DIG SKR Shri Atul Kumar Goel and DIG CRPF Awantipora Shri B. S. Negi. He was received at these districts by the district SsP Shopian & Pulwama. Ceremonial Guards of honour were presented to the DGP, on his arrival in these districts.
The DGP Shri Dilbag Singh chaired the officers meetings at both the district headquarters which were attended by the concerned district SsP, all DySsP along with jurisdictional SHO’s & DO’s of the districts. After getting a briefing from the concerned district SsP regarding the security scenario in these districts, the DGP addressed the jurisdictional officers.
In his address the DGP stressed upon officers to be vigilant as the enemies of peace are looking for the chances to disrupt the peace. He said that the peaceful atmosphere in the Jammu & Kashmir has been achieved after a lot of hard work and sacrifices by Police & Security Forces.
The DGP impressed upon the officers that the safety and security of the people is our prime concern. He said that JKP along with other sister agencies have succeeded in creating a sense of security among the minds of the people. He also impressed upon the officers to work with full professionalism, sincerity and in a dedicated manner for the welfare of the people while taking due care of their security. He advised the police to continue their fight against the drugs and book all those involved in this menace.
During these meetings the Director-General of Police also took stock of the winter arrangements for the Police personnel. He directed the officers to take care of jawans immediate needs, so that he can face the challenges while performing day/night duties, particularly during the winter months.
The meeting at Shopian was attended by SP Shopian Sandeep Choudhary, Addl. SP Shopian Arif Amin Shah, Commandant CRPF 14th Bn Shri Vishal Kandwal and other jurisdictional officers including Dy.SsP. The meeting at Pulwama was attended by SP Pulwama Chandan Kohli, Addl. SP Pulwama Anwar-Ul-Haq and other jurisdictional officers including Dy.SsP.
