An awareness programme under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was organised by One Stop Center for Women and Mahila Shakti Kendra at Government Middle School Mubarakh Pura.
Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri Mohammad Nazir Sheikh was chief guest on the occasion.
Deputy Director Planning, Bilal Mir, District Information Officer Rajouri, Narinder Raina, Administrator One Stop Centre for Women Neetu Sharma, Mahila Shakti Kendra Chairman Anum Mirza, Mahila Shakti Kendra Coordinator Sanjana Thakur were also present on the occasion.
Chairman MSK, discussed in detailed about Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative of Government of India which aimed towards betterment in sex ratio and awareness regarding implementation of girl child rights.
She also informed the village women about One Stop Centre for Women and Mahila Shakti Kendra which are being run with aim of women rights implementation and as a nodal agency to check violation of women rights.
Deputy Director Planning while addressing the gathering informed about the aspects of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and said that district administration is working tirelessly to achieve the aims of central government’s initiative.
Deputy Commissioner urged the locals to avail benefit from government schemes which are aimed for overall social upliftment. He said that holding such events at educational institutions not only acts as pivotal in awareness but also in boosting the morale of school students.
He further asked the staff to hold moral lessons during morning assembly and to inculcate the moral teachings among the students.
Later, school bags and stationary items were also distributed among the girl students of the school.
