MAYOR REVIEWS DEVELOPMENT WORKS IN BAHU FORT AREA

Continuing his commitment to provide better civic and development facilities to the people of Jammu. Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Chander Mohan Gupta today on 26/12/2019 conducted an intensive tour of ward no.47& 48 in the areas of Kalka Colony, Gorkha nagar & other colonies of Bahu fort alongwith Sh Vinay Gupta BJP District President , Sh Lucky Puri Gandhi Nagar Mandal President , Sh Sharda Kumari councilor of ward no.47, Sh Sham lal Bason councilor of ward no.48 , Smt Karuna Chhetri , President Gorkha samaj, Sh Sanjeev Gupta AEE , UEED, Sh Surinder Sharma Junior Engineer UEED , other officers/officials of JMC and large number of residents of Bahu fort area . Mayor checked the construction work of Nallah thoroughly in the area being executed by UEED at the estimate cost of seven crore and also directed the engineering wing of UEED to execute the construction work of the nallah upto tail end without leaving any work uncompleted as dirty water enters into the locality in the rainy season and creates havoc for the people living in ward nos. 47 & 48. Mayor assures the gathering that all their left over development works will be taken on priority basis as most of the people in the wards belongs to below poverty line and are very poor. He also asked the councilors to aware them about the various centrally sponsored schemes launched by central Govt. and take full benefit of these schemes which are only meant for the poor & common people. He also visited Gorkha Nagar Colony and interacts with the residents who also put forth their demands regarding laying of scraps of old vehicles & other waste materials by the shopkeepers/kabidees on the public roads,  poor sanitation, street light problem, lifting  of garbage , filth etc on daily basis from their colony. Mayor asked the field staff of JMC to redress the grievances of the locality at an earliest and deploy men & machinery in the Gorkha Nagar area on routine basis and directed the shopkeepers to remove the scraps from the roadside within fifteen days period so that residents & passersby may not face hardships due to blockage of public roads & lane.

He also appeal to the general public to cooperate with JMC in making Jammu city neat, clean and green & donot throw mulba garbage etc in the nallah & drains & avoid using single used plastic & polythenes in their routine life
