Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development Department, and Panchayati Raj, Sheetal Nanda, today inaugurated newly constructed ‘Boundary Wall’ here at Government Middle School, Thalori in Block Vijaypur.
Director Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Jammu Sudershan Kumar was also present at the inaugural ceremony, which also witnessed a plantation drive and a scintillating cultural programme presented by the school children.
It was informed that the boundary wall of school has been constructed at an estimate cost of Rs 15.09 Lakh under CAPEX Budget, Education sector.
A Nukkad Natak was also presented, highlighting various development schemes of Rural Development Department.
The Chief Guest, Commissioner Secretary RDD, while speaking on the occasion, said that the works sanctioned under CAPEX budget have been given first priority in the district with the view to create durable assets to benefit the people.
While responding to the demands of the locals, Commissioner Secretary directed the RDD officers to take in hand developmental works including levelling of grounds, construction of new lanes, drains etc. She also directed to expedite the ongoing works.
Later, the Chief Guest gave away prizes and mementos to the participating students of school and encouraged them to showcase their talent on bigger platforms.
Sub Divisional Magistrate C P Kotwal; Zonal Educational Officer Vijaypur and other officials and people of the local panchayats were also present at the inaugural function.
