The closing ceremony of the art exhibition Reminiscences (Kashmir on Canvas) by Mrs Sireesha Srinivas wife of Dr B Srinivas ADGP CID J&K was held at State Gallery of Art Hyderabad, the other day. Mrs Sireesha Srinivas has dedicated the sale proceeds of Rs Six lakh each to the children of Police Martyr families of J&K Police and Telangana Police. ADGP Dr B Srinivas thanked Telangana Police in helping out in holding the exhibition
Governor of Telangana Her Excellency Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan who was Chief Guest on the occasion, called upon the people to respect the sacrifices made by martyrs belonging to police and military. She said that we should appreciate every effort that gives due respect to the martyrs who give their best for the cause of people. She applauded the way Mrs Sireesha had captured the beauty of nature onto the canvas and dedicating the entire effort for the cause to support the families of police martyrs.
DGP, Telangana Shri M Mahender Reddy, appreciating the works of Mrs Sireesha said that it was a very noble cause and applauded the very idea of paying respect to the families of martyrs. He said that Mrs Sireesha had brought the beauties of Kashmir to the Deccan Plateau through her paintings.
The Director-General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh on behalf of Jammu Kashmir Police Parivar thanked Mrs Sireesha Srinivas and hailed the noble gesture towards the families of martyrs. He said that sacrificing the life for the nation is the highest tribute by Police personnel and taking care of the families of martyrs is every citizen’s responsibility.
Mrs Sireesha Srinivas, wife of Dr B Srinivas, ADGP, CID, J&K envisioned art exhibition Reminiscences (Kashmir on Canvas) at State Gallery of Art. The four days art exhibition culminated with the sale of Rs 12 lakh worth paintings.
Mrs. Sireesha spent more than two decades in Kashmir Valley and has been witness to the tumultuous changes that Kashmir has passed through all these years. Postings of Dr. Srinivas enabled her to stay in most of the beautiful places from Kargil to Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir. Mrs. Sireesha had put up her first solo exhibition in the Hungarian International Cultural Centre in New Delhi and since then she has participated in various art exhibitions at Jaipur, Jammu, Amritsar, Goa and Delhi. Many of her art works have found a place of pride in Corporate offices, Government office and private art collectors.
The DGP Telangana Shri M Mahender Reddy and Commissioner Anjani Kumar received Rupees six lakh for the Telangana Police Martyrs and ADGP CID J&K, Dr B Srinivas received rupees six lakh on behalf of DGP J&K Shri Dilbag Singh for the families of Police Martyrs of Jammu Kashmir.
