DDC Kishtwar takes stock of post snowfall situation in Marwah Valley

District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana today visited far flung snow bound area of Marwah and took stock of post snowfall situation including snow clearance, connectivity, water supply, availability of ration, medicines and other essential commodities.

The DDC was accompanied by SSP Kishtwar Dr. Harmeet Singh Mehta, ADDC Kishtwar Mohd. Hanief Malik besides other senior officers of the concerned departments.

During the visit, the people of Marwah area apprised the DDC of their demands which include regular chopper services with concession in air fares from Kishtwar to Marwah, conducting of 1st and 2nd year private exam in Marwah instead of Kishtwar, one gynaecologist in health institution, regular stationing of all employees of key departments, providing and installation of VSAT’s in panchayts and restoration of BSNL tower at the earliest.

All the genuine demands were patiently heard by DDC Kishtwar and on spot directions were issued to the concerned departments to look into all these issues for an early redressal on top priority.

Responding to the demand regarding non availability of employees on regular basis, the DDC assured the people that strict action shall be initiated against them. He further cautioned the government employees to remain punctual in their duties and serve the people with utmost dedication.

He directed the officials of health department to remain present on duty and ensure proper medicare to the patients. He directed the police and civil departments to work in close coordination to meet any eventuality during snowfall and ensure uninterrupted supply of essentials.
