The annual congregation of Randhawa biradari was organized at village Kothey in RS Pura of Jammu district.
Large number of people from Randhawa biradari participated in the annual congregation who paid obeisance to the ‘Kuldev’ and sought blessings for the upliftment of the biradari in particular and also prayed for communal peace and harmony in the Jammu and Kashmir.
On the occasion Ch. Piara Singh (former legislator) and prominent member of the biradari addressed the members and urged upon the youngsters to respect elders. He said that the elders are assets for not only the biradari but for the entire society and the youngsters must use their experience to lead a better life.
Former Member Legislative Council (MLC) Ch. Vikram Randhawa while speaking on the occasion laid stress on the members of the biradari to inculcate sense of respect and moral values among the younger generation which is vanishing rapidly. He urged the members of the biradari to join hands to eradicate all social evils from the society. He said that even today alcoholism, deaths due to dowry, drugs, domestic violence etc are very common in the society which is not a good omen. He said that it is high time that these social evils should be eradicated.
On the occasion many meritorious students of the biradari were felicitated to boost their morale. This year the Randhawa biradari honoured Sahil Randhawa who had qualified KAS recently. The speakers urged upon the other children to work hard to achieve success in future so that they may serve the biradari as well as the nation.
Those who were presented on the occasion include Chanan Singh, Kamal Randhawa, Ashok Randhawa, Girdhari Lal, Babu Ram Choudhary, Vinod Choudhary, Gurdeep Singh and others.
