District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana today flagged off special Enrollment Drive Express on “Aao School Chalein” under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign from New DC office Complex, Kishtwar here.
Among others present during the occasion were ADDC Kishtwar, Mohd. Hanief Malik, CEO Kishtwar Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, Dy. CEO Kishtwar Rajinder Sen, Principal DIET Ashok Kumar, Nodal Officer BBBP Anoop Kumar, Ad Planning Maneesh Manhas, Principal HSS Palmar Sunita Sharma, ZEOs, DRG members viz. Mehboob Qazi, Sumit Sharma besides staff of Education Department and others.
The special enrollment drive under the banner ‘Aao School Chalein’ under BBBP was organised by District Administration Kishtwar in collaboration with Education Department Kishtwar with an aim to spread the message of the Aao school Chalein campaign.
While flagging off the special enrolment drive express, DDC Kishtwar stated that the main objective of organizing this event is to create awareness among the common masses
for increasing enrollment of (dropouts and never enrolled students) especially girl dropouts in schools.
He stressed for mobilisation of community about the value of education, incentives and scholarship schemes available to the students and other areas of thrust.
CEO Kishtwar Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Sharma informed that the admission for students is open for the academic session- 2020 besides, this drive will also focus on enrolling ‘Out of school children'( drop outs and never enrolled), ensuring that 5th class pass out students of primary schools are admitted in nearby government upper primary schools and the students who have passed 8th class are admitted in class 9th to avoid elementary level dropouts.
“A calender has been devised for area wise coverage for publicising the message of enrollment drive under the campaign Aao School Chalein and BBBP by the Education Department”- he maintained.
Nodal Officer Beti Bachao Beti Padao Anoop Kumar stated that, Mobile Van is equipped with sound system wherein sound clips on women empowerment, save and educate girl child, value of education, incentives and scholarship schemes available to the students, enrollment of dropouts and it will generate awareness among the common masses of the district.
Besides pamphlets, posters highlighting the benefits of educating the students especially girl child shall be distributed and pasted at conspicuous places across the district wherever the van will move-in added.
Further, DRG group of the district along with concerned ZEO’s, front line workers of Education Department, Asha and Anganwari workers, PRI’s under the supervision of CEO Kishtwar shall motivate the parents to enroll the dropout students especially the girl child. They will also highlight the various schemes of different departments for promotion of girl education during the entire drive.
