Kansal reviews status of Beneficiary Oriented Schemes

Principal Secretary Planning, Development & Monitoring and Information, Rohit Kansal today held a meeting to review the progress on several issues regarding implementation of Beneficiary Oriented Schemes, commitments and work done under Public Outreach Programmes.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department, Hirdesh Kumar; Secretary Rural Development Department & Panchayati Raj, Sheetal Nanda; Director Information & Public Relations, Syed Sehrish Asgar; besides other concerned officers.

The meeting was also attended by all Deputy Commissioners of J&K via video conferencing.

Principal Secretary took stock of various centrally sponsored and flagship schemes and programmes and received inputs from concerned Deputy Commissioners regarding implementation and saturation of  various Social Security Schemes, scholarships and other departments’ schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, Kansal asked the concerned DCs for 100 per cent saturation of all beneficiary oriented schemes in all the districts including all border districts of the UT. He highlighted the successful implementation of centrally sponsored schemes viz Ujwala, SAUBHAGYA, PMJY, PMJBY, Kisan Fasal Bima Yojna, PMAY besides other welfare schemes.

Kansal underscored the need to further the reach of scholarships under Ministry of Minority  Affairs like Pre-Matric and Post- Matric Scholarships and directed the DCs to complete all necessary verifications in this regard within stipulated time.

The meeting also discussed implementation of Border Area Development Programme in all the frontier districts of J&K.

Also, Principal Secretary reviewed the status reports from concerned DCs with regard to Prime Minister’s Development Programme projects in the UT. He enquired about the status reports on projects like Jammu Ring Road, Srinagar Ring Road, Akhnoor Road, Srinagar- Baramulla Highway project, Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri Road project, Pakal Dul, etc.
