DDC Reasi assesses ongoing infrastructure works at Shiv Khori Shrine

District Development Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the progress of development works undertaken at the Shiv Khori Shrine, including the helipad at Shiv Khori Bhawan and associated pilgrim-centric infrastructure projects.

 

The meeting focused on strengthening fire safety systems and enhancing emergency response preparedness at the helipad located near the holy cave shrine. Detailed deliberations were held to ensure safe and efficient helicopter operations, along with robust contingency arrangements for emergency situations.

 

The Assistant Director Fire & Emergency Services briefed the chair regarding the essential fire-fighting infrastructure requirements at the site. It was informed that the construction of a water storage tank has been proposed to ensure adequate water availability for fire safety operations. Other critical fire protection measures and equipment requirements were also discussed.

 

The DDC directed the Executive Engineer PWD to prepare an estimate for levelling the area adjacent to the helipad and for the construction of a pilot room. Instructions were also issued regarding fencing of the helipad, construction of accommodation for security personnel, installation of an X-ray baggage scanner, CCTV surveillance system and necessary facilities to strengthen operational safety and security.

 

The meeting further reviewed ongoing PWD works at the shrine and along the pilgrimage track. Discussions were held on the construction of cloak room, repair and blacktopping of the bus stand and establishment of waiting and dining hall at the shrine premises.

 

The DDC also directed the preparation of an estimate for the construction of an overhead shed from Ram Mandir to the upper track leading to the shrine to provide shelter and convenience to pilgrims. He emphasized that all drinking water points along the pilgrimage route must be properly maintained and kept functional.

 

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar, Chief Planning Officer Narinder Kumar, Superintending Engineer PWD, Tehsildar Pouni and other concerned officers from line departments.
