TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan: 100-Day Campaign continues across Pulwama

Under the ongoing TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – 100-Day Campaign, a series of health awareness, screening and outreach Shivirs were successfully conducted across various locations of District Pulwama by the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) Pulwama to strengthen tuberculosis screening, early detection and community awareness.

The Shivirs were held in the villages of Samboora, Lelhar, Banderpora Chirat, Gundbal, Dusoo, Chandhara and Letpora. In addition, screening and awareness camps were organised at various healthcare institutions, including NTPHC Koil, HWC Payer and Nowhard, to ensure wider outreach and coverage of vulnerable populations.

During the Shivirs, active TB screening services were provided to the local population. Hand-held portable chest X-ray facilities were utilized to facilitate on-the-spot screening and timely identification of presumptive TB cases for further diagnostic evaluation and treatment.

Furthermore, during the shivirs, Healthcare teams also conducted extensive awareness and sensitization activities, educating community members about the symptoms of tuberculosis, preventive measures, the importance of early diagnosis and adherence to treatment.

The Health Department has urged the general public to extend full cooperation to the screening teams and seek timely medical consultation in case of any TB-related symptoms.
