Block Diwas Programme held at Qalamabad ADC Handwara listens to Public Grievances, inspects Departmental Stalls

On the directions of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, a Block Diwas programme was today held at Government Higher Secondary School Qalamabad in Block Mawer as part of the Government’s public outreach initiative.

The programme was chaired by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi, who interacted with local residents, reviewed developmental issues, and listened to public grievances.

A large number of people, including officers from various departments and members of civil society, participated in the programme and highlighted various issues and demands related to road connectivity, drinking water supply, electricity, healthcare, education, welfare schemes, and other developmental sectors.

The ADC gave a patient hearing to the grievances and demands projected by the public and assured them that all genuine concerns would be addressed in a phased and time-bound manner. He directed the concerned officers to take immediate action on issues that could be resolved at the sub-divisional level and ensure prompt follow-up on the remaining matters.

On the occasion, the ADC also inspected stalls installed by various departments showcasing government schemes, welfare programmes, public services, and developmental initiatives. He interacted with the officials managing the stalls and emphasized the need for greater public awareness and effective implementation of beneficiary-oriented schemes so that the benefits reach every eligible citizen.

Addressing the gathering, the ADC reiterated the administration’s commitment to transparent governance, responsive public service delivery, and inclusive development. He stressed that Block Diwas serves as an important platform for direct interaction between the administration and the people, enabling timely redressal of public issues and strengthening public confidence in governance.

Officers from various line departments were present during the programme and provided on-the-spot responses to several grievances raised by the participants.

The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from the district administration to strengthen public outreach, ensure effective implementation of welfare schemes, and accelerate developmental activities across Block Mawer.
