A team of State Tuberculosis Office Jammu today conducted a TB awareness and screening programme here at the POWERGRID Office.
The initiative, forming a part of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – 100 Day Campaign 2.0, was led by State TB Officer Jammu Dr. Jyoti Jolly.
The programme was attended by around 80 participants from POWERGRID, including contractual staff, security staff, sanitation workers and their family members.
Dr. Jyoti shared detailed information regarding tuberculosis (TB), its symptoms, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, nutritional support and the importance of early detection. IEC material was also displayed and distributed among the participants.
As part of the activity, screening of 81 individuals was carried out using Handheld X-ray (HHX) technology. The participants actively interacted with the team and raised several queries regarding TB prevention and care, which were satisfactorily addressed.
The participants were also encouraged to become Nikshay Mitras and spread awareness among their colleagues, families and communities under the spirit of Jan Bhagidari towards achieving the goal of a TB-Mukt Jammu & Kashmir.
The programme was conducted in the presence of GM (HR) Ashutosh Kumar and DGM (HR) Vinul Koul.
