
A Disaster Management Awareness Session was successfully organized today at Government Girls High School Pul Doda by the SDRF Team Doda to educate students and staff about disaster preparedness, emergency response techniques and safety measures during natural and man-made disasters. The programme was conducted under the guidance and supervision of the Headmaster Indu Bhushan, who appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of awareness among students regarding disaster management and public safety.
The SDRF team provided detailed information about first aid, fire-fighting methods, rescue operations and precautionary measures to be adopted during emergencies such as earthquakes, landslides, floods and fire incidents. The trainers emphasized the importance of timely response, presence of mind and community coordination in minimizing risks and saving lives during disaster situations.
A practical demonstration of CPR and other life-saving techniques was also conducted using specialized training equipment. The students actively participated in the demonstrations and interacted enthusiastically with the SDRF personnel to understand the functioning of rescue operations and emergency handling procedures. The awareness programme aimed at building confidence, preparedness and a sense of responsibility among students to effectively respond during emergencies.
Speaking on the occasion, the school administration lauded the efforts of SDRF Team Doda for organizing such an informative and beneficial programme for young learners. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, wherein the participants expressed gratitude to the SDRF team for spreading awareness about disaster preparedness, safety practices and emergency response management.
