RAMBAN, MAY 10: Director Horticulture Jammu Gul Syed today visited district Ramban and reviewed horticulture activities and awareness camps being conducted in the district. He was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Rajinder Kumar and Assistant Director Sunil Gupta.
During the tour, the Director visited the Horticulture Farm Ramban and later inspected the nurseries at Gool and Sangaldan. The Director exhorted officers and officials to ensure propagation of quality planting material in departmental nurseries for the benefit of orchardists.
He also attended farmers’ awareness camps organised by the department and interacted with growers, briefing them about the horticulture schemes and modern cultivation practices. He informed farmers about the Horticulture schemes including HADP, MIDH, CSS and ATMA.
Later, the Director inspected a High-Density Apple Orchard and interacted with orchardist. He stressed adoption of advanced cultivation techniques, scientific orchard management practices and better productivity measures.
Also present on the occasion were Farm Manager, ACHD Pardeep Dingra, concerned Horticulture Development Officers and staff members of the District Horticulture Department.
