Sanjeev Verma attends SVEEP awareness programme at GDC Purmandal

SAMBA, MAY 08: A comprehensive Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programme was organized today at Government Degree College Purmandal in Sub-Division Vijaypur,  with the objective of strengthening the voter awareness and promoting greater electoral participation.

Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, Sanjeev Verma, attended the programme as the chief guest.

The programme witnessed participation of officers and officials associated with the electoral process, including EROs, AEROs and BLOs of Samba district. Besides, representatives from recognized political parties, students and local citizens also attended the awareness session.

On the occasion, the students of Government Degree College Purmandal delivered speeches highlighting the importance of voting and democratic participation. A Nukkad Natak was also presented by the local artists to spread awareness regarding the electoral rights, ethical voting and the significance of active participation in elections.

During the programme, voter ID cards were distributed among the newly registered young voters who have recently become eligible to vote, encouraging them to actively participate in the democratic process.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Electoral Officer emphasized the importance of voter awareness and greater participation in elections. He urged the youth and citizens to contribute towards strengthening the democracy through informed and ethical voting.
