BANDIPORA, MAY 05: A sanitation drive was carried out along the Ahamshareef route after the area was found to have turned into a dumping spot for improperly discarded medical waste, raising serious environmental and public health concerns.
During the drive, sanitation teams removed the dumped medical waste and other accumulated waste from the site to restore cleanliness and ensure safe disposal practices.
Taking serious note of the violation, authorities also initiated action against the medical stores found responsible for improper disposal of biomedical waste. Strict warnings were issued, while officials stated that such negligence would invite punitive action under relevant laws.
The administration urged all healthcare establishments and the general public to strictly follow prescribed waste disposal protocols and make use of authorized waste management systems to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
