Awareness programme under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan held at GBHS Hathbura

GANDERBAL, MAY 05: An awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) was today organised at Government Boys High School Hathbura by Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti Ganderbal, Department of Social Welfare, in collaboration with REACHA (Research and Extension Association for Conservation Horticulture and Agro Forestry) and the Department of Education.

The programme witnessed active participation from students and staff, and featured a series of well-structured activities aimed at maximizing outreach and impact.

The event commenced with an interactive awareness session, wherein students were sensitized about the ill effects of substance abuse, its adverse social and health consequences, and the importance of making informed and responsible life choices.

An awareness rally was also organized, marked by enthusiastic participation of students and staff, who carried placards and raised slogans advocating for a drug-free society. The rally served as an effective medium to disseminate the message of Nasha Mukt Bharat among the local community, fostering a sense of collective responsibility.

Adding an environmental dimension to the initiative, a plantation drive was also conducted within the school premises. Participants actively planted saplings, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and a shared commitment towards building a healthy and drug-free future. The activity highlighted the intrinsic link between a clean environment and a healthy society.

Speakers on the occasion underscored the significance of such integrated initiatives, stating that these not only raise awareness but also instill a sense of ownership and accountability among the youth towards societal well-being.

The programme concluded with a renewed pledge by participants to contribute towards the realization of a drug-free society.
