
KULGAM, APRIL 25: As part of the ongoing Revision of Panchayat Electoral Roll 2026, a Special Summary Revision (SSR) Camp was organized today at Qaimoo to facilitate the enrolment of eligible voters and update electoral records.
The programme was presided over by District Election Officer (DPEO) (Deputy Commissioner) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam.
The initiative was aimed at ensuring maximum participation of eligible citizens in the electoral process and facilitating them in updating their details in the Panchayat electoral rolls.
During the camp, several new eligible voters were enrolled on the spot, while citizens were also facilitated in submitting forms for inclusion, deletion, correction and transposition in the Panchayat electoral rolls.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the DC emphasized the importance of maintaining accurate and updated electoral rolls for strengthening grassroots democracy and ensuring transparent Panchayat elections.
He urged citizens, particularly those who have attained the age of 18 years as on 01-04-2026, to verify their details and ensure inclusion of their names in the electoral rolls within the stipulated timeframe.
On the occasion, Deputy District Election Officer Kulgam, Bashir-ul-Hassan was present along with Tehsildar Qaimoo, Block Development Officers (BDOs), Master Trainer, PEBOs, BLOs, Aanganwadi Workers (AWWs) and a large number of citizens from Qaimoo.
