Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan: District Admin Kupwara organizes Pad Yatra rallies across district

KUPWARA, APRIL 21: In a significant step towards reinforcing the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, the District Administration Kupwara today intensified its awareness drive against drug abuse by organizing a series of Pad Yatra rallies across different parts of the district.

The rallies were aimed at sensitizing the public, particularly the youth, about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging collective responsibility in building a drug-free society.

The main highlight of the day was a mega Pad Yatra rally held in Sub-Division Karnah. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Tehsildar Karnah, Mohammad Amin Bhat along with various government officers, officials, students, and members of the local community. The event reflected a strong sense of unity and commitment among participants towards combating the growing menace of drug addiction.

Students played a particularly active role in the rally, carrying placards and banners that vividly depicted the ill effects of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society at large. They raised impactful slogans emphasizing the urgent need to eliminate drug abuse and promote a healthy, responsible lifestyle. Their energy and involvement added vibrancy and purpose to the campaign, reinforcing the message among onlookers and passersby.

The rally commenced from Tangdar Market and proceeded through key areas before culminating at Government Degree College Kandi, where participants gathered to reiterate their commitment to the cause.

In addition, similar Nasha Mukt awareness rallies were organized in various High and Higher Secondary Schools across the district. These events saw active participation from students, teachers, and members of civil society, all coming together to spread awareness and encourage dialogue on the dangers of drug addiction.

Pledge ceremonies were also conducted at multiple locations, where participants solemnly affirmed their resolve to work collectively towards eradicating drug abuse from society. These pledges underscored the administration’s focus on sustained community engagement and behavioral change as key elements in the fight against drugs.

The District Administration Kupwara reiterated its commitment to continuing such initiatives and called upon all sections of society to actively contribute to the success of the Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyan, ensuring a healthier and safer future for the coming generations.
