National Deworming Day: Albendazole tablets noshed to children in District Doda

DODA, APRIL 13: National Deworming Day was observed across all health facilities of District Doda today under the directions of the Mission Director NHM J&K Akriti Sagar and Director Health Services Jammu Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar.

On this occasion, health teams organized special deworming camps in schools, Anganwadi Centres and health institutions across the district. Albendazole tablets were administered to children aged 01 to 19 years as per prescribed guidelines to ensure maximum coverage.

The initiative aims to combat Soil Transmitted Helminthiasis (STH) among children and adolescents aged 01 to 19 years through coordinated efforts in schools and Anganwadi Centres. National Deworming Day shall be followed by Mop-Up Day scheduled on 18th April 2026 to cover left-out beneficiaries.

The campaign focuses on improving the nutritional status of children, reducing anaemia and promoting better health outcomes.

The programme was conducted under the overall guidance of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tanveer Ahmed Rather and close supervision of all Block Medical Officers of the district.
