
SHOPIAN, APRIL 13: Second day of the ongoing Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign in District Shopian was observed with a pledge ceremony held at the Mini Secretariat Shopian and awareness events across the district.
Employees of the Mini Secretariat participated in the pledge ceremony at Shopian, collectively affirming their resolve to work towards a drug free society and to actively support awareness efforts under the campaign.
The event was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Dr Zakir Hussain Faaz, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shopian, Shakoor Ahmad Dar, along with other district officers and officials.
While addressing the gathering, the ADDC underscored the importance of individual responsibility in eliminating drug abuse. He stated that the fight against drugs must begin at the personal level, urging employees to lead by example through conscious choices and responsible behaviour.
He further highlighted that consistent individual efforts can collectively bring meaningful change in society.
Employees were also seen holding placards depicting various anti-drug slogans, reinforcing the message of awareness and prevention.
On the occasion, official from the District Social Welfare Office highlighted the ill effects of drug abuse and emphasized the need for awareness, early intervention, and community participation to curb the menace.
Meanwhile, as per the campaign schedule, similar pledge ceremonies and awareness events were also conducted in schools across the district, accompanied by special morning assemblies where students and staff took a collective oath to stay away from drugs and promote a healthy lifestyle.
