
GANDERBAL, APRIL 10: 7th District Level Cooperative Development Committee (DLCDC) meeting was held today at Ganderbal under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Syed Faheem Bihaqi.
At the outset, the Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Ganderbal presented a detailed overview of the functioning and progress of the Cooperative Department in the district.
The meeting reviewed key Government initiatives, including Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs), Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs), adoption of model bye-laws by Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), establishment of Common Service Centres (CSCs), and setting up of Food Processing Units (FPUs). The Committee also discussed recently introduced schemes such as the Cooperative Infrastructure Development Fund (CIDF) and the Cash Credit scheme.
Progress on ongoing projects, including Super Bazaar and Food Processing Units, as well as works being executed under UT Capex and District Development Council (DDC) grants, was also reviewed.
Addressing the meeting, the ADC highlighted the important role of cooperatives in improving the livelihoods of people. He stressed that cooperatives should work as effective tools for inclusive growth and called for better coordination among departments to ensure smooth implementation of various initiatives.
He also directed concerned officials to establish Janaushadhi Kendras at suitable locations with high public footfall to ensure wider access and benefits to the people.
Furthermore, the committee reviewed two proposals under the CIDF scheme and three under the CC scheme for recommendation to the Divisional Level Approving Committee.
Concluding the meeting, the ADC emphasized the need for stronger coordination among all stakeholders to achieve the goals of cooperative development in the district.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Deputy General Manager NABARD, and other members of the Committee.
