REASI, APRIL 10: Under the visionary leadership of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi (also Pr. District and Sessions Judge) Khalil Choudhary and the guidance of Secretary Pooja Gupta, awareness events on Afforestation was organized today at Legal Aid Clinic Arabia, Shibrass and several other places in Mahore.
The programme was conducted by the PLVs of TLSC Mahore to sensitize the locals about the importance of tree plantation, environmental conservation for maintaining ecological balance. The PLVs highlighted the adverse effects of deforestation and encouraged the participants to actively contribute towards planting and preserving trees.
A Poster making competition on the theme “Save Environment” was organized at Government Middle School-Nangal- Katra. Ten students took part in the competition and showcased their artistic skills while spreading the message of saving the environment. The winners of the competition were felicitated with medals.
Awareness programme on Water Conservation of Water was organized at Bus Stand Reasi by the Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of DLSA to sensitize the local populace about the importance of water conservation, sustainable use of water resources and the urgent need to prevent wastage of water in daily life. The PLVs highlighted simple and practical measures for saving water, including rainwater harvesting, judicious use of water in households and protection of natural water sources.
