
KATHUA, APRIL 09: A three-day Training Workshop for District and Charge Level Clerical Assistants, conducted by District Administration Kathua in coordination with the Directorate of Census Operations Jammu & Kashmir, concluded successfully today at the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex here.
The workshop was held under the close supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma, who is also the Principal Census Officer.
The training programme, held from April 7 to April 9, 2026, was organised as part of capacity-building measures for the forthcoming Census operations, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India.
Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the active participation of the trainees and underscored the critical role of trained manpower in ensuring smooth, accurate and error-free Census operations. He expressed confidence that the trained officials would contribute effectively to the successful conduct of Census 2027.
During the three-day workshop, participants were imparted comprehensive training on various aspects of Census-related activities, including data collection procedures, use of digital tools, field-level coordination and reporting mechanisms. Emphasis was laid on maintaining accuracy, efficiency and strict adherence to timelines.
Resource persons highlighted the importance of meticulous planning and close coordination at the grassroots level for the successful execution of Census exercises. The sessions also featured interactive discussions and practical demonstrations, enabling participants to gain hands-on experience and clarity regarding their roles and responsibilities.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vishavjeet Singh; District Statistics & Evaluation Officer Kathua Sidharth Anand; District Informatics Officer Shubham Singh; Nodal Officer Seirin Kohli and Sanjay Kumar (District Coordinator) from Directorate of Census Operations, J&K, besides other officers and officials associated with the forthcoming Census exercise, participated in the training programme.
