REASI, APRIL 03: Under the visionary leadership of Khalil Choudhary, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Reasi (also Pr. District and Sessions Judge Reasi) and the able guidance of Pooja Gupta, Secretary, DLSA Reasi, an awareness programme on the Protection of Women from Sexual Harassment at Workplace (POSH) Act, was conducted at Legal Literacy Club (LLC) Katra.
The session aimed to spread awareness regarding the provisions of the POSH Act, emphasizing the rights of women to a safe and secure working environment and the mechanisms available for redressal of complaints related to sexual harassment at the workplace.
During the programme, the participants were sensitized to the definition of sexual harassment, preventive measures, role and responsibilities of employers and the importance of Internal Complaints Committees (ICC). The PLVs also highlighted the legal remedies and support systems available under the Act.
