BANDIPORA, APRIL 02: As part of the ongoing activities under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), an awareness programme was conducted at Dak Bungalow Sumbal on Thursday to sensitise the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and drug-free life.
The programme was organised by the Social Welfare Department as the nodal department, in collaboration with MC Sumbal, Excise, Labour and Health departments.
During the programme, participants were made aware of the ill-effects of substance abuse and its adverse impact on individuals, families and society. Resource persons highlighted the need for early intervention, awareness and coordinated efforts among departments and the community to effectively tackle drug abuse.
Speakers stressed the importance of collective responsibility in eradicating the menace of drugs and called upon youth and civil society to play an active role in promoting awareness and prevention.
Participants were urged to act as ambassadors of the anti-drug campaign and to spread the message of a drug-free society across their respective areas.
