GDC Kastigarh organizes Quiz Competition to commemorate 150 Years of Vande Mataram

DODA, APRIL 01: Government Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College Kastigarh organized a quiz competition to mark the 150th anniversary of the National Song Vande Mataram. The event was aimed at creating awareness among students about the historical significance, literary value and patriotic spirit associated with the iconic song, which played a crucial role in India’s freedom movement.

The programme was held under the guidance of Principal Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, with active participation from students from   different semesters. The quiz competition comprised multiple rounds covering various aspects such as the origin and author of Vande Mataram, its relevance during the freedom struggle and its cultural importance in fostering national unity and pride.

The event began with an introductory session highlighting the role of Vande Mataram in inspiring generations of freedom fighters and strengthening the spirit of nationalism. Students participated with great enthusiasm and showcased impressive knowledge, reflecting their awareness of India’s rich heritage and history.

In the competition, Khalid Bashir secured the first position, while Chandanjeet Singh and Mamta Devi bagged the second and third positions respectively. On the occasion, participants of earlier activities were also felicitated. The Principal appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee and encouraged students to take part in such academic and cultural initiatives that promote patriotism, awareness and holistic development.
