SHOPIAN, MARCH 27: District Level phase-1 training for district and charge level officers for Census -2027 commences today here at Mini-Secretariat Shopian on House Listing and Housing Census.
The training programme aimed to equip the officers with necessary knowledge and technical skills required for the smooth conduct of upcoming census operations. The sessions focused on various modules ensuring hands-on experience for participants to enhance efficiency and accuracy in data collection.
The role of charge officers was discussed in detail and step by step operation of Census Management and Monitoring System (CMMS) was demonstrated for the participants.
During the programme, ADDC, Dr.Nasir Ahmad Lone who presided over the training, emphasized the importance of Census-2027, describing it as a cornerstone for planning, development and policy formulation. He urged all officers to actively participate and perform their duties with dedication and accountability.
On this occasion, Master trainers imparted detailed training on operational guidelines,digital tools, and field-level execution strategies, ensuring hands-on learning and practical understanding. Special focus was laid on ensuring uniformity, accuracy and timely completion of assigned tasks.
The training was organised by Directorate of Census Operations J&K with District Census Officer Shopian, which will continue on 28 March and 4th April, 2026.
During the interactive session, the participants also raised queries and received clarifications from the resource persons.
The Census exercise will be done in a phased manner to ensure accurate data collection. The Ist phase is scheduled from 01 to 30th June, 2026 and 2nd phase from 09 to 28 February, 2027.
