DC reviews availability of essential commodities in Poonch

POONCH, MARCH 18: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the availability and stock position of essential commodities across the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik, District Statistics and Evaluation Officer Javid Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner  Food Safety,  Tariq Mehmood, Accounts Officer Akshay Sharma, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology besides LPG Distributors and other concerned officers.

The Assistant Director FCS&CA Adil Shabir briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the current stock status of key commodities including LPG, petrol and diesel. He informed that sufficient stocks are available in the district and urged the public not to panic.

After a detailed review, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities for the general public. He directed all concerned departments to maintain close coordination with supply agencies to avoid any disruption.

The Deputy Commissioner also constituted a District Level Committee and instructed officials to conduct regular monitoring and inspections to prevent hoarding and black marketing of LPG and other essential items.

The Deputy Commissioner also constituted a District Control Room for centralized monitoring, collection and compilation of reports related to essential commodities.

The DC further stressed the importance of an efficient distribution mechanism and directed officers to remain vigilant to ensure smooth and transparent supply across the district.
