One-day Entrepreneurship Mela held at Thathri under Mission YUVA

DODA, MARCH 14: District administration Doda on Saturday organised a one day Entrepreneurship Mela at Thathri Sub-Division to promote self-employment and entrepreneurial opportunities among the youth.

Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Roshan Lal, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sheetal Sharma, Tehsildar Satish Rana and Assistant Director Employment besides officers from various line departments, representatives from financial institutions and aspiring entrepreneurs from different parts of the subdivision were also present during the event.

The District Employment & Counselling Centre coordinated the event aimed at promoting government schemes, start-up support mechanisms and skill development initiatives available for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The participants were provided detailed information regarding financial assistance, skill training programmes and mentoring support designed to help youth establish their own enterprises. Officials from different departments interacted with the attendees and encouraged them to explore innovative business ideas and become job creators. Various departments and institutions set up stalls displaying opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, horticulture, handicrafts, cooperatives and rural enterprises.

Speaking on the occasion, the officers emphasized the importance of self-employment and urged the youth to avail advantage of government initiatives aimed at livelihood generation and economic empowerment. They also highlighted the role of Mission YUVA in nurturing entrepreneurial talent and creating sustainable employment opportunities.

During the event, sanction letters were distributed among beneficiaries under various employment generation schemes, enabling them to start or expand their ventures. In addition, appreciation certificates were presented to successful entrepreneurs and participants in recognition of their contributions and achievements in promoting entrepreneurship in the region.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth, students and aspiring entrepreneurs. They showed keen interest in learning about the opportunities available under Mission YUVA and other employment-oriented schemes.
