Awareness programme on PMEGP, JKREGP held at Nowshera

NOWSHERA, MARCH 05: Jammu & Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB)- District Office Rajouri today organized an awareness programme at Hanjana Khanka, Bareri Nowshera to promote self-employment schemes- the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and Jammu & Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP)

Educated unemployed youth, aspiring entrepreneurs, artisans and members of the civil society were acquainted with self-employment opportunities available under PMEGP and JKREGP schemes.

District Officer KVIB Sameer Ahmed highlighted the objectives, eligibility criteria, financial assistance pattern, margin money subsidy and application procedure for availing the benefits of the twin schemes. Participants were informed about the scope of establishing income-generating units in manufacturing, service and business sectors. The importance of entrepreneurship development for sustainable livelihood generation and rural economic development was emphasized.

Detailed guidance was provided regarding online application procedures, documentation requirements and bank linkage for sanction of cases.

The programme concluded with an interactive session wherein the queries of the participants were addressed satisfactorily.
