
BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 26: The sale of high-quality vegetable seedlings at Seed Multiplication (SM) Farm Watapora was formally inaugurated today by Chief Agriculture Officer, Javid Iqbal Samoon, marking the commencement of seasonal distribution of quality planting material to promote kitchen gardening and commercial vegetable cultivation across the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) appreciated the efforts of SM Farm Watapora for raising healthy and disease-free seedlings and highlighted the importance of quality planting material in enhancing crop productivity and ensuring better returns to farmers. He encouraged farmers and unemployed youth to take maximum benefit of the initiative and adopt vegetable cultivation as a sustainable and income-generating activity.
He further emphasized that promotion of vegetable cultivation and kitchen gardening not only strengthens household nutritional security but also contributes significantly to the agricultural economy of the district.
On the occasion, a large number of farmers from various areas attended the inaugural event and expressed keen interest in procuring quality seedlings for the upcoming cultivation season. The CAO assured continuous support and availability of healthy seedlings to meet the requirements of farmers.
