
BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 23: Under the ongoing “Child Marriage Free Bharat” Campaign, Mission Vatsalya (Child Protection Services) Bandipora on Monday organized an awareness and sensitization programme At Chandaji Bandipora.
The event witnessed participation from former Sarpanchs, Lumberdars, ex-ward members, ASHA and Anganwadi workers, Teachers, Aayas and community members.
On the occasion speakers highlighted the harmful impacts of child marriage, relevant laws, and the importance of prevention. Community responsibility in safeguarding child Rights, education and well-being was emphasized.
Officials stressed the serious physical, emotional, and social consequences of child marriage and encouraged immediate reporting of such cases. The Child Helpline number 1098 was promoted widely, and awareness posters were displayed in schools and Panchayats.
A resolution was adopted to prevent child marriage, enhance monitoring, and ensure community participation in protecting children. The programme concluded with a pledge to make the district free from child marriage and secure a better future for children.
