
KATHUA, FEBRUARY 21: In a bid to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among the youth, the District Employment and Counselling Centre in collaboration with the district administration Kathua today organized a one-day Potential Entrepreneurship-cum-Awareness Mela under Mission YUVA at Nagri Parole.
The mela was aimed at generating awareness among local youth about various self-employment opportunities available under different government-sponsored entrepreneurship development programmes and motivating them to avail advantage of the support mechanisms provided under Mission YUVA.
At the outset, Assistant Director Employment, Piyusha Khajuria, delivered a detailed presentation on Mission YUVA, outlining its objectives, key features, eligibility criteria and facilitation support available to aspiring entrepreneurs.
Additional District Development Commissioner Kathua, Surender Mohan Sharma along with other officers and officials of stakeholder departments attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, the ADDC appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the youth and emphasized the importance of such outreach programmes in fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem at the grassroots level. He stated that Mission YUVA is a transformative initiative aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial talent, generating sustainable employment opportunities and promoting self-reliance among the younger generation.
Experts from the stakeholder departments sensitized the participants about various schemes under Mission YUVA, including the registration process, financial assistance, handholding support and other benefits available to eligible candidates.
The programme also featured interaction sessions wherein successful entrepreneurs shared their experiences and highlighted the positive impact of government initiatives on their ventures, inspiring aspiring youth to pursue self-employment as a viable career option.
