
KATHUA, FEBRUARY 04: Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar on Wednesday visited Community Health Centre (CHC) Hiranagar and Primary Health Centre (PHC) Ramkot – Billawar to assess the functioning of the twin health institutions.
Chief Medical Officer and BMOs of District Kathua accompanied the Director.
The Director inspected OPD, IPD, emergency services, laboratory, pharmacy and other critical sections during his visit to CHC Hiranagar. He reviewed the availability of essential medicines, diagnostic facilities, equipment functionality, manpower deployment and cleanliness of the premises. Patient feedback was also taken to assess service quality and responsiveness of the healthcare staff. The Director directed the Incharge Medical Officer to ensure strict adherence to duty rosters and proper maintenance of hospital records.
The Director also reviewed implementation of national health programmes, maternal and child health services, immunization coverage and referral services. Emphasis was laid on strengthening emergency care, ensuring timely referrals and maintaining uninterrupted health services, especially in rural and peripheral areas.
Later, the DHSJ visited PHC Ramkot- Billawar where he assessed OPD services, labour room preparedness, cold chain maintenance, drug availability and sanitation facilities. He interacted with healthcare staff and issued instructions to further improve patient care, cleanliness and community outreach activities. Stress was laid on regular field visits, IEC activities and effective monitoring of public health programmes.
