DDC Budgam reviews progress of PM-SYM Scheme in the District Directs to accelerate enrolment of eligible beneficiaries

BUDGAM, FEBRUARY 3: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Scheme (PM-SYM) in the district.

 

During the meeting, the departments were assigned specific targets regarding registration of eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Scheme.

 

The DDC was informed that 4,415 beneficiaries have been registered so far in Budgam district under the Scheme.

 

The DDC stressed the need to significantly increase enrolment and directed all concerned officers to speed up the registration process so as to ensure maximum coverage of eligible workers in the district.

 

He instructed the line departments to intensify mobilisation and outreach efforts at the field level and to adopt a mission-mode approach for achieving higher registrations under the Scheme.

 

The DDC emphasised that special focus should be laid on workers engaged in unorganised sectors including agriculture, handloom, handicrafts, municipal services and other informal occupations. He further directed that the departments including Assistant Director Handicrafts, Executive Officers of Municipal Committees and Chief Education Officer (CEO) shall ensure registration of beneficiaries falling within the eligible age group of 18–40 years under the PM-SYM scheme.

 

The DDC further directed officers to ensure close monitoring, regular reporting and effective coordination among departments to remove bottlenecks and facilitate faster enrolment of eligible beneficiaries.

 

The DDC also directed the District Manager, CSC to depute employees to block centres and Municipal Committee offices to facilitate on-the-spot registration of eligible workers.

 

He called upon all departments to work in close coordination to achieve tangible improvement in registrations under the Scheme in Budgam.

 

The meeting was attended by the Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Budgam, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Assistant Director Handloom/Handicrafts, Executive Officers of various Municipal Committees, and District Manager CSC, among other concerned officers.
