DC Doda inaugurates 3-day Mobile Passport Van Service Camp

DODA, JANUARY 20: As part of its Public Outreach initiative aimed at improving citizen services, the Regional Passport Office (RPO) Jammu under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, today launched a three-day Mobile Passport Van Service Camp at DC office Complex Doda.

Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh formally inaugurated the camp in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Anil Thakur; Chief planning Officer, Munish Manhas; Section Officer, MEA, GOI Sunil K. Khar and other officers.

The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the initiative taken by RPO Jammu Rajesh Kumar and his team to facilitate the residents of Doda. He appealed to the people to take full advantage of the camp. “Such initiatives bring government services closer to the people, especially those living in hilly and far flung areas,” he noted.

Section Officer RPO Jammu said that residents of Doda district have availed this facility by booking an appointment through the official website www.passportindia.gov.in. “Applicants have already selected the slot for the Passport Van service which will be stationed at DC Office complex Doda for three days (January 20 to January 22, 2026),” he informed and added that similar camps shall be organised in other districts of Jammu Province in the coming months.

“The Mobile Passport Van is fully equipped for biometric enrolment and on-site document verification, ensuring convenience and efficiency for applicants. This citizen-friendly initiative is expected to enhance accessibility, save time and make passport services more efficient for residents of remote areas,” he said.
