
BHADERWAH, JANUARY 17: The 2-day Winter Carnival- 2026 being organised by the Department of Tourism, Government of Jammu & Kashmir (UT) through the Directorate of Tourism, Jammu in collaboration with the District Administration Doda and the Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) commenced today at Guldanda, Bhaderwah with great enthusiasm. Featuring a variety of cultural and recreational activities, the event attracted a large number of tourists and locals alike.
The event was graced by DDC Chairman Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal, who attended the function as the Chief Guest. MLA Bhaderwah, Dalip Singh Parihar, Deputy Director Tourism, Pankaj Sassan and Deputy Director Publicity, Savita Chouhan, were present as the Guests of Honour.
Several senior officers including SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar Bhutyal, Chief Executive Officer Bhaderwah Development Authority, Sanjeev Sharma, SP Bhaderwah, Vinod Sharma, ARTO Doda, Kapil Deol along with other district and Sub-district senior officials from different departments were also present
The Winter Carnival aims to promote winter tourism in Bhaderwah, highlight its scenic beauty and provide a platform to showcase local culture and talent. The celebrations will continue with a musical event at the New Bus Stand, Kotli Bhaderwah on January 18, 2026, expected to draw large participation from locals and tourists.
The event is being organized under the aegis of the District Administration Doda and BDA, reflecting the collective efforts of all stakeholders to strengthen Bhaderwah’s position as a major winter tourism destination in the region.
