On the basis of a complaint received from complainant namely karamjeet Singh S/ O shanker Singh resident of Sanjay nagar Jammu, it was reported that he received a call on 05.08.2025 from a mobile number inquiring about the purchase of four split ACs. Trusting the call, the complainant sent the AC units through an auto-rickshaw. On reaching the location, the accused persons shifted the ACs into their own vehicle and fled from the spot.
Acting swiftly on the complaint,FIR no 124/2025 under section 304 BNS registered and a dedicated team of Police Station Janipur initiated an investigation.
After sustained efforts and the use of technical and human intelligence, the police succeeded in arresting two accused persons namely
Ajay Kumar S/O Sham lal R/O New plot Jammu and
Ankush Kumar S/o Amit lal R/o Rehari colony Jammu involved in the snatching. All four stolen split ACs, worth approximately ₹2 lakhs, were recovered, and the auto and scooty used in the commission of the crime was also seized.Further investigation is underway.
