Srinagar – In a significant development, the National Conference (NC) has reiterated its unwavering commitment to the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s special constitutional status, vowing to continue its democratic struggle until this objective is achieved.
The party’s Executive Committee, under the leadership of NC President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, convened on Wednesday at the party headquarters in Nawa-e-Subh Complex, Srinagar. During the meeting, the committee passed seven resolutions aimed at strengthening the party’s organizational structure and reaffirming its core political agenda.
One of the key decisions taken was to launch a comprehensive membership drive across the Union Territory to bolster grassroots engagement. Dr. Farooq Abdullah emphasized that the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s autonomy remains the party’s central agenda and declared that there will be no compromise on this issue. He stated that the NC remains committed to achieving this goal through peaceful and democratic means.
The three-hour-long meeting was attended by several senior party leaders, including former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The Executive Committee unanimously adopted resolutions stressing the urgent need for the restoration of peace, protection of civil rights, and a return to the pre-2019 constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir.
