Family was busy in preparing for the wedding of Mukesh Singh


Jammu: The family of soldier Mukesh Singh Manhas, who was martyred in the IED explosion on the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir, lives in Bari Kamila village of Samba district. His marriage was scheduled for April 18, but the news of his sacrifice has saddened the whole family. His parents are inconsolable.

Soldier Mukesh Singh Manhas, who was martyred in an IED blast on the Line of Control in Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir, was a resident of Bari Kamila village of Samba district. His marriage was scheduled for April 18 in Satraiyaan camp of village RS Pura.

The wedding preparations were going on at home when the news of Mukesh’s martyrdom came like a thunderbolt and the whole family was devastated. When the villagers came to know about this sad news, people started flocking to Mukesh’s house to offer condolences.

Mukesh’s father Sikter Singh has retired from the post of Sub Inspector from Jammu and Kashmir Police. The martyr’s younger brother Suresh Singh is serving in the Army’s Artillery Unit.

The martyr also has a mother and two sisters. The sisters are married. Former Sarpanch Mukhtiar Singh said that Mukesh was a smart and sociable boy. He used to meet everyone well when he came on leave.

He also inspired other youth of the village to join the army. Mukesh’s last rites will be performed on Wednesday on the banks of the Devika river with full military honors.
On the other hand, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid tribute to the two soldiers who died in the Jammu IED blast. Manoj Sinha and senior BJP leader Sunil Sharma on Tuesday paid tribute to two army personnel, including a captain, who were killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Akhnoor sector here.

In a message, Lieutenant Governor Sinha said, I salute the supreme sacrifice of our army bravehearts who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Their valor and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
