IAS Amit Sharma gets five deptts in Ladakh reshuffle

Leh: Senior IAS officer Amit Sharma, who has recently been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Ladakh Union Territory, has been allocated charge of five key departments.

Widely known for his innovation and efficiency, Sharma held the charge of departments of Mining and Geology as his last postings in Jammu and Kashmir. He has left behind stories of innovations and reforms whichever department he has held in the administration. Sharma is a recipient of many awards and recognitions for his work.

Upon joining the Ladakh administration as Secretary, Sharma has been allocated the charge of five departments viz Rural Development, Information Technology, Science & Technology, Transport and Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction.

Sharma’s joining his led to a minor re-allocation of departments.

Consequently, Principal Secretary Sanjeev Khirwar has been given the charge of School Education, Housing and Urban Development and Industries and Commerce Department.

Ravinder Kumar, Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor holding other charges as well, has also been allocated with the departments of Hospitality and Protocol, Estates and Civil Aviation.

Meawhile, through a separate order, the Deputy Commissioners of Leh and Kargil have been asked to swap position. Shrikant Balasaheb Suse has now been posted as Deputy Commissioner Kargil, while Santosh Sukhdev replaces him in Leh.
