New traffic advisory for Amarnath Yatra, time limit curtailed

Jammu: Traffic advisory has been amended for Amarnath Yatra. It is valid from 4th July to 1st September. Under the new cut-off timings issued for yatra convoys and passengers, the timing of the last vehicle to cross the Navyug tunnel towards the Valley from Jammu to Pahalgam (other than the main convoy coming from Jammu) is 4 pm, while towards Anantnag The timing of the last vehicle to cross Mir Bazar has been fixed at 4 pm.

From Pantha Chowk to Manigam (District Ganderbal), peak automobile crossing towards Manigam, last vehicle crossing Lassan at 3:30 pm, Shadipora towards Manigam, last vehicle crossing Sumbal at 4 pm and Baltal And the last vehicle crossing Manigam Transit Camp is timed at 5 PM.

As per the cut-off time for convoy/passengers from Kashmir Valley to Navyug Tunnel, the departure from Baltal to Navyug Tunnel has been kept at 6 am. Due to this timing of last vehicle crossing Pantha Chowk towards Anantnag is 3:30 PM, Mir Bazar to Navyug Tunnel timing of last vehicle crossing Mir Bazar towards Navyug is 4:30 PM and towards Navyug Tunnel The last vehicle to cross Walnut Factory Qazigund is scheduled at 5:30 PM.

The movement timings between the Jammu region and the Kashmir Valley have also been revised. Up Baltal Convoy-Jammu to Kashmir departure time for Baltal is 4 hrs and departure time from Lumbar Banihal to Baltal is 10 hrs.

Normal cut-off time – No passenger/tourist vehicle will be allowed to cross the Navyug tunnel towards Kashmir before 4 pm. No passenger/tourist vehicle will be allowed to move towards Jammu/Srinagar from Pahalgam at 3 pm. No passenger/tourist vehicle will be allowed to move from Sonamarg towards Srinagar at 3 pm. No passenger/tourist vehicle will be allowed to move from Gulmarg towards Srinagar after 5 pm.
